Meredin Vash

The Character

Meredin Vash was born in the mid 1850's in London. Her childhood is relatively unknown but her later years are well documented, under a different name of course. Meredin became a star of the theater at a young age. Her acting ability was second to none and audiences traveled hundreds of miles to watch her perform.

Her acting career continued into her mid to late twenties. By then she had a husband and two children. Her husband was also famous for directing plays that Meredin sometimes starred in. However, it did not take long for another younger, prettier actress with a decent acting ability to come along and capture the hearts of the audience and Meredin's husband.

By the time Meredin was thirty her acting career was all but a memory. Her husband was sleeping with a mutlitiude of other women and Meredin was devestated. It was a short time after her thirtieth birthday that Meredin decided suicide was the best way to go. What she did not know was that someone had taken an interest in her acting and had been watching her for a good deal of time. As the last bit of life's blood drained from Meredin's slit wrists, her savior came and embraced her.

The years Meredin spent with her sire were long and mostly a blur to her. She learned everything that was needed for her to function in kindred society. After she was set free to roam on her own, Meredin met another kindred who resembled her of her husband a great deal. She fell in love with him quickly and was soon at his side every waking moment. The two decided to become bound to one another to forever solidify their love.

This decision backfired harribly for Meredin as she discovered her love was a member of the Brood. Soon she too was inducted into the twisted society and was instructed to infiltrate the Ordo Dracul of Sacramento. By this time the kindred of Sacramento were very aware of the Brood presence within their city and were striking back at them with full force. Meredin's job was to infiltrate the Ordo Dracul, earn their trust and then use them to bring the Brood back into the city.

It took quite some time for Meredin to earn the trust of the suspicious Dragons, but after the war with the Brood ended, killing most of Sacramento's kindred population, there were only a few Dragons left and Meredin found herself to be the head of the covenent. At first, she used this position to her advantage. She took a chunck of territory for herself and began to bring the Brood back into the city. Since the other two covenents had taken their own territories and laid claim to them as Princes, her activities were pretty much ignored. It wasn't until Freddrick and his group of information mongers came into the city that her plans began to slowly deteriorate.

The Story

Freddrick discovered Meredin's lover and threatened to expose her to the rest of the city in exchange for backing as Prince. Meredin agreed because he did not have all the information and she could care less who was Prince of the city. She was still named the head of the Dragons and therefor had all the influence she needed.

Shortly after Freddrick's rise to power, Meredin decided the oldest of the Dragons needed to be put down. He was the Kogaion and was getting suspicious of her activites. She intended to have him killed by luring him into a warehouse the Brood were using as their base of operations. What the Kogaion did not know was the Brood had summoned a greed demon and had pushed it into the warehouse so the building would be possessed and the demon would be useful. When the Kogaion entered the building, he was immediatly siezed but began to fight back. During the struglle, he killed Meredin's lover. At the time Meredin chose not to kill him. She ordered that he be buried outside of the city. She hopes by the time he came crawling out of his hole she would have complete control of the city and would be able to torture him properly for killing her beloved.

About twenty years later, the Kogaion Muir awoke and crawled out of his "grave". Meredin found him walking the streets and was barely able to contain her shock. She knew it would not take long for the Kogaion to regain his memories. She took him back to the Dracul Chapter House and decided to wait and see what would happen. She could kill him at any point, after all.

By this time, Freddrick was well established and was once again aware of the Brood cells within the city. Meredin was trying to get the Brood to move quickly to release the demon and retake control. She knew their time was short, however there were a few things that still needed to fall into place.

What she did not realize is how quickly the Kogaion regained his memories. He alerted the other Dragons and a few other kindred from the various covenents to the presence of the warehouse and the demon. The Crone, Sanctum, and Dracul all worked together over a course of three nights to banish the demon in the warehouse. During the ritual it was discovered who and what Meredin was. After the banishment, the coterie entered the Dracul chapter house and took Meredin into custody.

She was sentenced by the Ordo Dracul to die by sunlight.
